Chairman of the Board, Mohammad Al-Othman, confirmed 2017 as a successful year for KNET, in view of the increase of 32.6% in online payments (263 million), as compared to the previous year. Around 1218 merchants and website businesses, began using the online payment service for facilitating online purchases. As a result, the value of online payments reached KD 925 million. In addition, 6250 new POS devices were deployed over the year, depicting an increase of 12.7% in comparison to the previous year.
In the government sector, KNET expanded its reach to include 49 government entities by the end of the year, generating online payments to the tune of KD 513 million.
